We are looking for a Software Development Team Leader to join our IT team. You will be part of the dev team, which has a mission to use the environmental know-how and expertise to develop state of the art, custom made, IT solutions aiming at environmental management, improvement of natural resources and integration of environmental issues in policy making tools. The company makes use of geographic information system (GIS) technologies, IoT, environmental remote sensing, advanced visualizations and web/mobile applications, to help their clients achieve their business goals.

The main responsibilities are:

• Hands on development of Core/Critical technical components
• Drive standards on code quality, reliability, scalability, and performance
• Make architecture decisions that contribute to maintainable systems
• Participate in quality assurance and maintenance
• Search for new technologies and their application to relevant projects
• Leading software development efforts and assigning work to team members.
• Mentor junior members of the team

Requirements:

• In-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development and deployment)
• Expert understanding and experience in object-oriented programming having proven work experience as a full-stack developer for 5+ years
• 3+ years of recent experience with Laravel or similar PHP frameworks
• Excellent knowledge of relational databases (MySQL or PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases
• Good knowledge of Virtual Dev Environments (Docker Containers or Vagrant)
• Working in teams, sharing knowledge, facilitating conversations and being part of the solution
• BSc in Computer Science or Software Development

Good to have (not required):

• Experience with Web GIS development
• Experience with IoT and Timeseries data
• Experience with JS frameworks (Angular or vue or React)

We currently have a newly created opening for an experienced Business System Analyst to join our team! The core focus of this role is to lead requirements sessions and provide implementation/coordination support while working with stakeholders and the development team to select, design, deploy and support on a wide variety of existing and new projects. You will be part of a fast-moving dev team, undertaking several projects, ranging in size, scale and type. It is essential that you are comfortable working with cross-functional teams at all levels and can communicate/convey/translate complex technical concepts simply to your audience. Responsibilities:

• Gather requirements, design and analyze the system, prepare the essential specification material, oversee implementation, coordinate tests and evaluate quality and performance;
• Receive project issues, communicate with the client for verifications and track them until they are resolved properly;
• Contribute the technical analysis for European, National or private projects in the field of applied informatics for developing and designing innovative solutions for the environment and the agriculture;
• Collaborates with developers, designers, and team leaders to ensure a shared understanding of the business model and the detailed function requirements;
• Work with the development team leaders to plan, prioritise and schedule development tasks;
• Manages the progress of projects by tracking activity, resolving issues, and recommending actions;
• Be accountable for all aspects of quality and delivery in the development, testing, deployment and production support of software;
• Provides senior management and project management with regular updates on deliverable timeline and project status;
• Liaise with other project team members and be responsive to client’s needs.

Requirements:

• At least 3 years of proven experience in applied IT objects;
• Experience in business or system analyst or ICT project manager positions;
• Experience with software to track requirements (e.g. JIRA);
• Strong critical thinking and analytical skills;
• A confident communicator, with both technical and non-technical people;
• Excellent knowledge of English language;
• Availability to travel in Greece and abroad;
• Bachelor degree in applied / engineering sciences and / or computer science.

Desired skills:

• Experience in managing small to medium size projects;
• Having worked in a team that was building web / mobile apps / services ideally holding a technical position;
• Interest in new technologies and their application to environmental and agricultural  issues;

• Web development using JS frameworks (vue, angular)
• Mobile development using JS frameworks (through cordova and ionic)

Requirements:

• 1 year experience with front-end tech (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript)
