We are looking for a passionate data-oriented, analytical Back-End Developer to join our development team. Your primary focus will be the application support on our legacy system and development of server-side logic, data pipelines, and administration of several databases while ensuring high performance and responsiveness. The Back-end Developer will also use his or her understanding of programming languages and tools to analyze current codes and industry developments, formulate more efficient processes, solve problems, and create a more seamless experience for users. You will be joining a dynamic and fast-paced environment while working with cross-functional teams to design, build, and roll-out projects.

Back-end Developer Responsibilities and Duties:

• Be involved and participate in the overall application lifecycle
• Maintain and continuously improve legacy code while providing software application support
• Performing analyses on software application functionality and suggesting improvements
• Ensuring effective front end and back end functionality of applications
• Managing code migration across environments to ensure continued and synchronized functionality
• Build high-quality reusable code and easy to maintain that can be used in the future
• Process and analyze data, processes, and code to troubleshoot problems and identify areas for improvement
• Collaborating with other team members to establish objectives and design more functional and cohesive code
• Participating in continuing education and training to remain current on best practices, learn new programming languages/frameworks
• Documenting processes and monitoring application performance metrics.

Back-end Developer requirements and qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar relevant field
• Good knowledge with C# and .Net Framework
• Familiar with PostgreSQL, SQL Server or other SQL databases in a production environment
• Understanding of the MVC design pattern.
• Familiar with system design, data structures, and algorithms.
• Knowledge of source version control (Git, SVN, Mercurial)

A GIS Specialist designs and develops Enterprise-scale GIS applications in accordance with agreed standards and procedures. Moreover, he/she will provide technical support and maintain already developed GIS applications on large-scale projects.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Analyzing spatial data through the use of mapping software.
• Discovering patterns and trends through spatial mapping of data.
• Develop GIS mapping applications and geoprocessing tools and services.
• Creating spatial datasets, perform analysis, and assure the integrity of information.
• Producing Maps focusing on several attributes of data including statistics.
• Converting paper maps into digital formats.
• Performing data processing and convert usable quality datasets.
• Produce reports on spatial data and utilize data visualizations.
• Managing a digital library of geographic maps in various file formats.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features.

Requirements and qualifications:

• Degree in computer science, surveying, engineering, geography or related field.
• 3 or more years of working experience as a GIS Analyst or equivalent role.
• Experience with python and ability to develop geoprocessing tools using the arcpy library.
• Experience with relational database and advanced use of query languages such as SQL.
• Experience with the ESRI suite products and its online platforms (Portal, Online, etc.).
• Experience with open source mapping applications such as QGIS applications.
