Job Summary:

Altair is seeking an engineer to join the Global Technical Team to support technical pre and post sales activities for PSIM and Embed. The work will involve daily communication over email and web presentation with clients and prospects to help understand their simulation and design goals for power converters and motor drives and how the suite of Altair simulation tools can be used to achieve these goals.

This position will be a unique opportunity to interact with thought leaders of the power electronics industry who are on the leading edge of research and development. This position will allow you to greatly expand your technical knowledge and abilities into all aspects of power electronics including: switchmode power supplies, motor drives, analog and digital control, DSP and FPGA implementation, etc.

What You Will Do:

  • Support the sales team by evaluating customers’ and new prospects’ requirements and offering solutions and help on product evaluations.
  • Coordinate and lead technical discussions with customers & prospects, on a daily basis.
  • Work daily within our sales & marketing CRM (Hubspot) to complete assigned tasks, send emails, and make phone calls to customers and new prospects.

What You Will Need:

Enable our Salespeople to sell our Electromagnetic and Electronic Solutions (75%)

For your assigned sales campaigns (which will change periodically), help our Sales Account Managers (AMs) win business efficiently by doing the following:

  • Develop, deliver, and support a successful sales enablement strategy for consistent execution in your assigned region. Propose appropriate success metrics, then achieve them.
  • Lead the creation of the required selling materials as “Sales Enablement Kits” (including battlecards, call & email scripts, sales presentations, sales wins and customer success stories, and possibly more) to provide guidance to our salespeople internally and to enable them to re-use externally when selling. Monitor usage and increase over time.
  • Help produce enough qualified leads for our AMs by enabling our Business Development Representatives (BDRs), Inside Sales Reps (ISRs) and Regional Marketing teams to properly target, pursue, and achieve traction with prospective customers.
  • Monitor and assess campaign results, processes, & lessons learned – to continually improve.
  • Conduct sales training and continually coach Account Managers & Channel Partners. Coordinate our AMs’ storytelling with our AEs’ ability to deliver effective demos.

This role will include first-line ticketing and call resolution on a local and remote basis, and members of the level 1 team will be users’ first point of contact.

The role includes providing support to Altair colleagues by responding to all incoming incidents and services requests for PC’s, software, laptops, mobile devices, and other IT services. In this role, you will be an integral part of the legal team supporting geographically distributed product development teams across the enterprise and assist in validating and implementing the use of open source and other third-party components in various Altair software offerings.  You may also provide open-source license compliance reports. You’ll also develop and nurture key relationships with product managers and other relevant functions across the company.  As a third-party code compliance analyst, you’ll need to learn to understand the requirements and business drivers for a variety of Altair’s software solutions and projects and use this to facilitate collaboration.

What You Will Do:

  • Prioritize open-source license compliance requirements based on product development needs, legal requirements, contractual obligations, and technical capabilities
  • Manage license compliance risks that come from the use of open source and third-party code in software applications
  • Develop and provide open-source license compliance reports for Altair’s offerings as needed
  • Prepare and communicate appropriate notice statement for inclusion with distributed applications.
  • Develop and evaluate license compliance tools and automation to support efficiencies for product development
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure that standardization of third-party license usage and data
  • Coordinate with external customers to address any license compliance questions and concerns, explain open-source compliance reports, etc.

What You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • 5+ years of experience with open-source software license compliance
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional, internationally distributed environment and effectively use traditional and virtual communications
  • Practical experience with the legal aspects of open-source software licensing
  • Experience and understanding of software development process
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
