Kenotom develops safety critical embedded systems with focus on the automotive electronics industry. The main activities lie in the area of Basic Software (drivers) for Electronic Control Units (ECUs), Function and Diagnostics Software for ECUs, Hardware Design, Testing and Test Automation of ECUs. Since the beginning in 2014 we have established several partnerships with some of the largest automotive electronics suppliers. Continuing the significant growth of last year, we are currently looking for additional engineers for all our sectors. The team keeps constantly growing, offering a dynamic working environment in the frontend of the automotive technology and significant evolution opportunities.

For a new project in the powertrain domain we are looking immediately to employ 1 highly motivated Firmware Engineer.

Overview

Electronic Control Units (ECUs) are placed into vehicles performing numerous automation and safety procedures. The low-level software development of such units is a demanding procedure, requiring deep understanding of the microcontroller and its peripherals, knowledge in electronics and high programming skills. Additionally, testing of the functionalities is a key element to meet international levels of safety, since such Electronics that fail in the field are an active hazard to human life. The testing procedures must be rigorous, with a high sense of responsibility and with great attention to detail.

The primary responsibilities of this position are:

1. Design, implement & test drivers for microcontrollers, peripherals, communication protocols and external ASICs

2. Adapt existing drivers according to customer Change Requests

3. Debug & fix problems in existing drivers according to Failure Reports

4. Define, implement and execute unit tests – generate the required reports

The candidate will be responsible for working as a part of a large development team with other engineers to ensure that program goals are met, schedules are maintained and problems encountered during the development process are resolved. The position is based in Thessaloniki, GR and occasional travel to the customer’s premise may occur.

Studies / Experience

· Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or similar is required

· Relevant Master’s Degree in Embedded Systems or similar is a plus

· Involvement in embedded systems projects (hobby and/or professional) is a plus

Skills

· Strong understanding & command of the programming language C

· Ability to work with and handle problems of data acquisition tooling & instrumentation

· Ability to transform information from datasheets into software

· Familiarity with embedded systems concepts (microcontrollers, peripherals, external ASICs, communication protocols, etc.)

· Familiarity with Real-Time systems concepts

· Ability to navigate, understand & adapt large existing codebases

· Experience in source control, change management and issue tracking

· Knowledge of German is a plus

· Attention to detail and thoroughness

· Documentation Skills – Ability to write fluently to describe system design & test results

· Ability to effectively communicate with peers, supervisors and customers

· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

For our current needs we are looking to immediately employ 1 highly motivated E-Drive System Engineer.

Overview

Electrification is one of the major trends in the automotive industry, leading to significant development activities for electric powertrains. The design of such systems is a demanding procedure, requiring deep understanding of electric motors and their control methodologies, power electronics and embedded systems and must take into account their harsh working conditions, demanding requirements concerning reliability and compliance to several industrial, environmental, automotive and safety standards. Additionally, testing is a key element to meet international levels of safety, since such systems that fail in the field are an active hazard to human life. The testing procedures must be rigorous, with a high sense of responsibility and with great attention to detail.

The primary responsibilities of this position are:

· Adapt and maintain the E-Drive system architecture based on the requirements using SysML.

· Adapt and maintain E-Drive functional requirements.

· Adapt and maintain and derive E-Drive safety requirements based on the functional safety analysis.

· Reorganize, restructure and align requirements in direct communication with all responsible roles (stakeholders, engineers, project managers, etc.).

· Perform simulations in Matlab/Simulink in order to define and validate the design.

Studies

· Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical /Mechanical/Automation Engineering, or similar is required.

· Relevant Master’s Degree in Control and Automation or similar is a plus

Skills

· Familiarity with modeling languages, UML or SysML

· Experience in Matlab-Simulink

· Experience in modeling and control of electric, mechanic and hydraulic systems

· Requirements engineering knowledge and tooling competence

· Ability to transform information from stakeholder into requirements.

· Testing principles

· Familiarity with Real-Time embedded systems concepts (microcontrollers, peripherals, communication protocols, etc.)

· Attention to detail and thoroughness

· Ability to effectively communicate with peers, supervisors and customers

· Excellent knowledge of English is a must

· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

· Documentation Skills – Ability to write fluently and describe system design and test results

· Moderation skills to lead meetings in order to assure the intended outcome is a plus

· Knowledge of German is a plus
