Senior Consultants -Sales & Transformation Testimonials

1. What has been the most significant project or milestone in your time at Deloitte that shaped your professional growth? What kind of technical implementations made you grow as a Salesforce developer?
Working for the past 5 years on a project that has been active in Salesforce for more than 12 years, the biggest challenge and learning milestone has been adaptability. When a project’s foundations are fragile, not due to negligence but because the technologies available at the time were very different from today’s, finding the right balance between new and old becomes essential. My biggest achievement has been maintaining that balance. Every day brings the challenge of introducing modern technologies while ensuring that old ones continue to function properly. What makes me most proud is managing this transition. By replacing old technologies gradually, brick by brick, and following best practices, you begin to see real transformation. Over time, long-standing projects like this can evolve and truly stand out again.

2. How do you typically help junior developers grow? How do you balance giving guidance vs. letting someone figure things out on their own?
That’s one of my favorite parts of the job. Watching people grow and become independent through your guidance is something unique and rewarding. It’s an investment. To help a junior developer grow, first you need to figure out the person you are working with, understand their needs, their strengths, and limits. At the beginning, it often means doing extra work yourself: understanding their task, finding a solution, and then, instead of doing it, sharing your thought process with them. The goal is to give them the tools and mindset to reach the solution on their own. Over time, they develop their own way of thinking, and that’s when real value shines. Day by day, your guidance is needed less and less, which means they gain confidence, and more work gets done independently. Finding the right balance between guiding and stepping back is always challenging because every person is different. But as you get a better understanding of the person you are working with, it becomes easier over time.

3. What’s the difference between working on a project and shaping a digital transformation?
A project focuses on delivering a specific solution, while digital transformation is about reshaping processes and systems to create long-term business value. It involves not just building features but also influencing how technology supports a company’s evolution. For me, the two are closely connected, because while delivering projects, we need to be aware of new technologies and best practices (as mentioned before) so we can implement the right solutions and provide our clients with the most effective tools on the market.

4. What’s something about working in Deloitte that might surprise people?
What surprised me the most – and I’ll use a word that I personally use for something that excites me a lot – is that they throw “banger” parties. We always have an amazing time at these events as a team!
5. How would you describe the culture within your team in a few words?
Collaborative, respectful, and supportive. We have a strong understanding of each other’s strengths and areas of growth, and we consistently support one another with mutual respect, both on a professional and a personal level.

1. Can you tell us about your journey into software development and how you ended up specializing in Salesforce?
I studied Computer Science at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, so software development was always something I was drawn to. My journey with Salesforce, however, began only after I joined Deloitte, right after finishing university. At the time, I had no prior experience with the platform, but I was immediately intrigued by its versatility and user-friendly interface. As an attendee of the 2nd Salesforce Deloitte Bootcamp, I had the chance to familiarize myself with the platform through lectures, exercises, and the guidance of experienced colleagues, while also earning my very first Salesforce certification. This gave me the opportunity to start from scratch and build a career in a high-demand ecosystem, without any prior experience.

2. How have you grown technically over the past 6.5 years? What kind of technical challenges have you worked on recently?
Over the past 6.5 years, my technical growth has been shaped by working on large international projects with complex requirements. This gave me the chance to work extensively on system integrations, collaborating with multiple teams across different time zones and technologies. Working in such environments also meant thinking outside the box, exploring and leveraging different technologies when needed to find the best possible solution for our clients. This experience broadened my perspective and taught me to approach problems in a more solution-oriented way.

3. What kind of technical challenges have you worked on recently?A recent technical challenge involved handling large data volumes, where I encountered issues that could not be replicated in test environments and had to be addressed directly in production. These situations required a deep understanding of system behavior and data processing limits within Salesforce, along with clear communication with the client.
Through these experiences, I’ve strengthened not only my technical expertise but also my ability to troubleshoot under pressure and make informed decisions in complex, real-world scenarios. One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that while issues are inevitable in complex systems, success lies in how effectively and efficiently you respond to them.

4. How did your role evolve from pure development into also advising on solutions and business needs?
My role began evolving around my third year at Deloitte, when I started taking ownership of solution design for specific initiatives. As the lead developer in these efforts, I was responsible not only for implementing solutions but also for designing them. This required close collaboration with business stakeholders and product owners to fully understand end-user needs and shape them into effective technical solutions. Over time, my perspective shifted from purely executing instructions to first thinking about what we wanted to build and identifying the best way to approach it. I also realized that technical expertise alone is not enough for successful delivery – effective communication and the ability to balance stakeholder expectations are key to a strong outcome. That transition into a more advisory role has been one of the most rewarding parts of my journey, as it allows me to contribute directly to the overall value delivered.

5. What is it like working with your team on a daily basis?  What aspects of Deloitte’s culture resonate most with you?
Working with my team is one of the most enjoyable parts of my day-to-day life, and I feel truly grateful to be part of it. They are always supportive and fun to work with, while also being exceptional technical experts in their field. What stands out in our Salesforce team at Deloitte is the strong sense of community and mentorship. There is always someone willing to help, whether with a technical challenge or with guidance on personal and professional development. The diversity of expertise across the team is a huge benefit, as it creates an environment where you can constantly learn from others.
The learning culture is something I particularly value. Deloitte actively encourages continuous development, whether through professional certifications, structured classroom trainings, or free, unlimited access to learning platforms for self-paced growth. There is always an opportunity to enrich your skills, you just need to take the initiative. Overall, it’s an environment where growth is not only supported but actively encouraged.
