techpro community is growing
TechPro Academy has successfully wrapped up another one of its usual Fall Meet-ups, on October 8th at the KEDEA Amphitheater.

Fueling Racing Teams with Engineering Software
BETA CAE Systems started its journey more than 35 years ago, when a group of
students from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, inspired by their professor, shared a
vision of pushing the boundaries of engineering simulation. Fast forward to today, as
part of Cadence, we still have the same sense of belonging to the academic
community, which is why we are dedicated to giving aspiring engineers the experience
they need to succeed in their careers. For us, it goes beyond tradition, involving the
passing on of knowledge and supporting the new generations of engineers.
One of the most exciting ways we do this is by supporting racing student teams,
especially those competing in events like Formula Student. These teams are a great
example of how students can apply what they’ve learned in class to real-world
problems. Designing and building a race car is a complex and demanding task. It
challenges students’ mindsets and calls on both technical know-how and
inventiveness. This is where we step in, providing these teams with access to the
same cutting-edge engineering simulation software that experts utilize in the industry
on a daily basis.
Through our sponsorships, we provide student teams with our advanced software,
such as ANSA and META, which are key to enhancing designs and running
simulations. Using this software, students gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge
technology and knowledge of how complex systems are modeled and virtually tested.
This is a rare opportunity for them to work with software that is used in top companies
around the world.
Elevating Engineering Careers Through Expert Training and Collaborations
But our steps go beyond that. We believe that it’s important not just to provide access
to the software but also to ensure students know how to use it effectively. That’s why
we host training sessions tailored to their needs. Led by our experts in engineering
simulation, these sessions teach students to use the software and provide valuable
insights into best practices that will be essential to their professional careers.
Supporting student racing teams goes far beyond just sponsorship. It’s about giving
students the opportunity to develop skills that will make them stand out throughout
their careers. Teamwork, problem-solving, and innovative thinking are just some of the
skills they gain by being part of these projects. And these skills are what employers
require from new graduates.
Our engagement with universities and academia goes beyond supporting racing
teams. One of our recent initiatives is our collaboration with the Cambridge Institute of
Technology (CIT) in Bengaluru, India. Through this partnership, we provide faculty
training and integrate our software into their curriculum. Our tools also support
research projects, including automotive competitions, enabling students to tackle
complex engineering challenges and prepare for their future careers.
At BETA CAE Systems, now part of Cadence, we are proud to play a role in developing
of the next generation of engineers. Our investment in academic collaboration, student
teams, and research projects is an indication of our commitment to education and
innovation in engineering. Continuing this path, we seek to keep equipping students
with the resources and knowledge they require to survive in the changing world of
engineering.
